reputations & plotting meme
Greetings, inmates!
The purpose of this meme is two-fold: one, to plot and plan threads with the other players in the game! That part is self-explanatory. You are encouraged to use this meme to plot closed logs with other players as there is no group intro log.
And two: to start feeling out a daily routine for your characters, what kind of relationships they have with the guards and NPC inmates, and what kind of reputation they have overall! Even new arrivals will start to get a reputation pretty quickly, so don't worry if your character isn't established yet.
This sort of background planning affects things like: the reputation each block has, characters that may be punished more or less than others, how easily characters will be able to bribe guards, which characters might be pegged as good potential snitches by the guards, and so on!

How long have they been at Obsidian?: A week or two
Reputation Section
Does your character obey the rules, or try to skirt around them?: He'll obey the rules to a point and bend where he can until he absolutely has to. The rules he breaks will most certainly be for someone else's benefit as opposed to his own.
If your character is disobedient, what sort of rule-breaking would they engage in?: buying contraband, getting into fights, or antagonizing inmates or guards into action
Has your character ever been to SHU?: He'll be breaking in his record card before the end of the month
Is your character social, or do they keep to themselves?: Michael is social and loves to pry into people's minds, so his favorite thing to do is have long, prodding conversations.
Is your character more of a leader or a follower? Or neither?: He's a follower, though he sees himself as a right-hand man or someone pulling the strings. He knows who the true leader is and has enough respect not to usurp it.
What might they be doing on an average day?: People-watching in the common room, playing cards, reading in his cell. He's an information-grabber, so he likes to watch for opportunities to figure someone out. He's not particularly outdoorsy, so if he is outside, he's lingering along the edges.
What's something about your character's behavior that the guards might like? What might they dislike?: Michael has a silver tongue, so his disposition for talking can be hit or miss, especially if he starts in on getting too familiar with the guards. He will certainly try to get them on his side. For the most part, he's obedient unless he's told otherwise
How is your character perceived by other inmates, in their block and outside of it?: He's probably seen as invasive, but interested in who people are. He always looks as put together as he can to help with his confidant exterior. Some may find his stare unnerving, while others may find him attention-seeking toward all the veteran inmates. Maybe a little too into his cult.
If they asked around, what might other PCs hear about your character?: Given the nature of his arrest, there are a few rumors about how he likes to bathe in blood and perform cannibalism for Satan. There will probably be quite a few stories about how fanatical he is, or that he's quite unhinged. The rate at which he ends up in the SHU certainly won't help that case. But there are probably also rumors that he's all bluster and posturing without any real influence to speak of.
Where would you like your character to end up, in terms of reputation and their role in their block and the prison as a whole?: The longterm goal is to be fully immersed in Anomaly lore and potentially a following of his own as an extension of something bigger.
What does your character think of the Anomaly?: He's curious about it and will come to look at it with something akin to reverence and maybe a little well-deserved fear.

CR You Want: Anything! Someone to knock him down a peg or two, some sort of rivalry for Flagg's attention?? Allies or friends that he can rely on would be good. I'm firmly in camp 'cr develops how it develops'!
CR You Can Offer: One jerk who will ask too many questions in order to make everyone start to question the system and their own beliefs and spin pretty lies and maybe bat his eyelashes. He really just wants people to see how terrible things really are. Satanism, maybe??
Current Plans: Nothing solid aside from trying to drop in the Anamoly's dms.

Reputation Section
Does your character obey the rules, or try to skirt around them?: He's definitely a rule follower, but if he can find a way to bend a rule and not get in trouble, he will.
If your character is disobedient, what sort of rule-breaking would they engage in?: Fighting, his mouth gets him in trouble and he doesn't back down.
Has your character ever been to SHU?: No
Is your character social, or do they keep to themselves?: He mostly will keep to himself, though he's not going to snub someone looking for a chat. He will also try (and fail) at flirting if he's feeling confident
Is your character more of a leader or a follower? Or neither?: a follower, but he really doesn't want to get involved. If he's pressed or coerced, though?? Well, that's different.
What might they be doing on an average day?: Spending time in the common room or outside, reading in his cell, or browsing the library with absolutely no idea where to start.
What's something about your character's behavior that the guards might like? What might they dislike?: He absolutely does what he can to not toe the line and even get in more trouble or sent to SHU, but has a tendency to get in over his head. The guards definitely know why he's there and probably don't take kindly to someone betraying the country that pays them.
How is your character perceived by other inmates, in their block and outside of it?: Not somebody with a lot of ambition to rise in the ranks, probably seen as a pushover until he's pushed far enough to bite back, a pretty nice guy but not the brightest.
If they asked around, what might other PCs hear about your character?: Great hair. A kid who hasn't quite grown out of high school yet, and there's a lot of speculation about how much involvement he had in his crime.
Where would you like your character to end up, in terms of reputation and their role in their block and the prison as a whole?: A solid group of friends or people he knew had his back would be good. Aside from that, anything goes.
What does your character think of the Anomaly?: He says it's bullshit, but there's a small part of him that believes there's something weird. Not even 'my hick midwestern town has a lot of weird shit going on that no one can explain', but something. He doesn't know what.

CR You Want: Anything! I'm here for conflict, a group of people he can even consider friends, people he doesn't get along with or making his life more of a nightmare. Whatever happens happens!
CR You Can Offer: One boy who makes up for his lack of brain cells with heart cells. Without a rowdy bunch of teenagers to look after, he can fill the void and be a best friend. He will argue with you about the dumbest stuff even if he's wrong, he'll try to be your hype man and probably get it all wrong. Hey, he was cool in high school, that carries over, right?
Current Plans: None, but I live for variety!
