reputations & plotting meme
Greetings, inmates!
The purpose of this meme is two-fold: one, to plot and plan threads with the other players in the game! That part is self-explanatory. You are encouraged to use this meme to plot closed logs with other players as there is no group intro log.
And two: to start feeling out a daily routine for your characters, what kind of relationships they have with the guards and NPC inmates, and what kind of reputation they have overall! Even new arrivals will start to get a reputation pretty quickly, so don't worry if your character isn't established yet.
This sort of background planning affects things like: the reputation each block has, characters that may be punished more or less than others, how easily characters will be able to bribe guards, which characters might be pegged as good potential snitches by the guards, and so on!

Reputation Section
Does your character obey the rules, or try to skirt around them?: Rule-skirter. The law is for other people, darling. Of course she'd rather stay in her block than be sent to SHU, so she plays it as smart as she can, but she's never let a silly thing like a rule keep her from doing anything. Which is exactly why her juvenile record took up a whole drawer at the LAPD. If something's illegal here at Obsidian? Peep her doing it.
If your character is disobedient, what sort of rule-breaking would they engage in?: Margo and her best friend, Eliot, have a little contraband operation (drugs, weapons, the fun stuff), so that's the main thing. She's almost always got something on her that she isn't allowed to have, whether it's tucked into her underwear or her mattress or her empty eye socket. And while she isn't prone to unprovoked violence (verbal evisceration is more of her thing), she'll definitely punch back hard and rough someone up if she needs to.
Has your character ever been to SHU?: No, but only because she's new.
Is your character social, or do they keep to themselves?: Margo is social, but for a purpose. She strives to have a thumb on everyone around her, and keeping up with the hot gossip is one way to do that. She'll play friendly, then go repeat everything you just said to her friends. Welcome to Mean Girls: Prison Edition.
Is your character more of a leader or a follower? Or neither?: A leader. Margo enters all situations fully expecting to dominate them, and so far she's rarely failed to follow through. It isn't automatic, though - her whole life she's had to fight her way to the top, cracking any skull (figuratively or literally) that she needs to do it. She doesn't back down or take no for an answer.
What might they be doing on an average day?: Eavesdropping while flipping through a magazine. Sneaking cigarettes. Spying on people. Watching TV. Trying to alter her jumpsuit into something more fashion-forward. And whatever she's doing, there's a not insubstantial chance that Eliot or Quentin are nearby, serving as her arm candy even if they absolutely do not realize it.
What's something about your character's behavior that the guards might like? What might they dislike?: Look, Margo is a very beautiful woman, and she knows it. She's been using it to her advantage since she was fifteen years old, and it turns out even some of the biggest, toughest prison guards will do what you want if you whisper the right thing in their ear. Of course, her role in the contraband ring and her hot-and-cold attitude make her just as unpopular among others. Sure, she flirted with you the other night when she needed your keys, but now she's cursing the ground your grandmother was buried in? There's something wrong with this chick.
How is your character perceived by other inmates, in their block and outside of it?: Bitchy. Fake. Mouthy cunt with a temper. Definitely up to something, don't trust her.
If they asked around, what might other PCs hear about your character?: She smuggles drugs in her eye. She's fucking the guards. She's fucking [insert any human being]. She once killed a man with a stiletto. She once killed eight men with a stiletto. She lost her eye in San Quentin. People call her the Destroyer because she doesn't leave any part of her victims behind. Oh, and she said something really awful about your mama.
Where would you like your character to end up, in terms of reputation and their role in their block and the prison as a whole?: I want her to go from "I want to control these people" to "I want to protect (some of) these people", pretty much. So even though relationships right now are likely to be adversarial or contentious, and Margo finds little use for friends other than the two she currently has, I'm toying with an arc that changes the motivation behind her need for leadership. Right now, she thinks she's tough. She's hot shit who, with an exception and a half, doesn't need anybody and doesn't care about anybody. It's a survival instinct from her youth, and I want to break it to pieces.
What does your character think of the Anomaly?: Definitely more on the curious side, though a bit wary. She wants to know more, but she doesn't want it to fuck with her.

CR You Want: Just about everything! Negative CR is of course bountiful, so just pile that right on, whether it's frenemies or rivals or actual sworn foes. And it's hard to become close friends with her, given her layers of "hurt them before they hurt you, you don't need anyone" bullshit, but I'm willing to work at it over time. Everything in between is the cat's pajamas.
CR You Can Offer: Petty bitch to gossip with. Drug and contraband connection. Practical expert on pop culture and primetime television. Hot lady who bats for both teams, but you'd better be on her level. The meanest motherfucker who's ever knocked you down a peg.
Current Plans: None other than what's mentioned up above!
